1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Devdwell Tools ("the Service") at tools.devdwell.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

Devdwell Tools provides a free, browser-based image optimisation tool that allows users to compress, resize, crop, rotate and convert images to AVIF format. The Service operates entirely client-side — all processing occurs within your web browser and no image data is transmitted to our servers.

3. Use of the service

You may use the Service for any lawful purpose. You agree not to use the Service to:

• Process images that infringe the intellectual property rights of others
• Process images containing illegal content including but not limited to child sexual abuse material
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service beyond what is publicly available
• Use automated systems to access the Service in a way that burdens our infrastructure
• Misrepresent the origin or nature of the Service to third parties

4. Intellectual property

The Devdwell Tools website, its design, copy, and code are owned by Devdwell and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain full ownership of any images you process using the Service. We claim no rights over images you upload or download.

The AVIF encoder used by the Service is based on open-source libraries (libaom, libavif) and is used in accordance with their respective licences.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• The output quality will meet your specific requirements in all cases
• The Service will be compatible with all browsers or devices

You use the Service at your own risk. We strongly recommend keeping backups of your original image files before processing.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Devdwell shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damage to images processed through the tool.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed £0, given the Service is provided free of charge.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. As noted there, we do not collect or transmit your image data.

8. Third-party services

The Service loads open-source libraries from third-party CDNs. We are not responsible for the availability or content of these third-party services. Your use of them is subject to their own terms and policies.

9. Modifications to the service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
