How do I crop an image to a square?
Pick the 1:1 ratio and a centred square box appears at the largest size that fits. Drag it where you want it, resize from any corner — it stays square — then apply. Use it for profile pictures and product thumbnails.
Can I crop to exact pixel dimensions?
Yes. The X, Y, width and height fields take exact numbers and update as you drag, so you can rough the crop in by eye and then correct the values. Leave the ratio on Free when you are typing exact numbers.
Does cropping reduce image quality?
No. Cropping selects a region of the existing pixels and discards the rest; the pixels it keeps are unchanged. Any quality loss comes from the format you save as afterwards, so choose PNG if you want the crop to be lossless end to end.
Can I crop for a profile picture or avatar?
Yes — 1:1 is what almost every platform wants. Crop square, then resize to the size the platform asks for and save as PNG or JPEG. Both steps are on this page, and the second applies to the result of the first.
Can I crop several images the same way?
Not automatically, and deliberately so: a crop box in pixels means something different on every image size, so applying one blindly across a batch usually cuts the wrong region. Batch runs apply format, quality, rotation and a fit-inside box; crop stays on the image you can see.
